Terms of Use
In these notes
Using this site means accepting the plain terms below. They are short because the site is simple: it publishes reading pages and nothing else.
General information only
Everything here is general information about septic systems, private wells and Durham city water. It is not engineering, legal, medical, health or real-estate advice, and it is not a site evaluation, inspection or water test for any property. A page can describe what a rule says; it cannot say how that rule applies to one lot, one well or one sale.
Rules and numbers change
State rules, county fee schedules and federal limits are revised from time to time, and the figures here carry the date they were checked. Before acting on any of them, confirm with the people who decide: the county health department for permits and records, a board-certified inspector for a septic inspection, a certified lab for water results, and a licensed contractor or well driller for work on a system.
No warranty
The pages are provided as they are, without any warranty that they are complete, current or fit for a particular purpose. Red Clay Septic & Well is not responsible for losses or costs that follow from relying on them in place of a professional or an official answer.
Links to stores and other sites
Some well pages link to products sold by SoftPro Water Systems or Quality Water Treatment, which have the same owners as this site, as the about page explains. Those stores set their own prices, terms, warranties and return policies, and any purchase is between the buyer and the store. Links to agencies and other outside sites are offered for reference; this site does not control their content.
Use of the content
The text and images belong to this site. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine; copying whole pages is not.
The site's handling of visitor data is set out on the privacy page. These terms were last reviewed in October 2026 and may be updated when the site changes.
